What is the Vendor Center?
A Vendor is a person or a business that sells goods or services, and the Vendor Center holds all of the information for the vendors that you or your company does business with. This information includes, but is not limited to, contact information and various types of transactions. Additionally, there is a section where you can add notes about a vendor as well as a to-do list to remind of certain events. Let’s take a look at a few features of the Vendor Center.
1. To open the Vendor Center, click Vendor on the menu bar.
2. Now you will see the various features of the Vendor Center.
3. The are encompassed in yellow is the Vendor list. You can add a new vendor by clicking New Vendor above the vendor list.
4. The area in yellow can be accessed to view specific transactions, create to-do lists, notes, and enter contact information.
5. You can also view specific transactions by clicking Transactions just above the vendor list. To view all purchase orders for a specific vendor, click a vendor’s name in the vendor list, then click Transactions just above the vendor list. In this example, I have chosen Purchase Orders, and to the right, you will see all of the purchase orders that were created for a specific vendor.
6. You can also view transactions by clicking on a vendor’s name, then selecting a type of transaction from the Show drop-down menu. In this example, I am going to select bills.
7. Now you will see all of the bills listed on the right. The remaining lessons for this chapter will go into more detail regarding the Vendor Information Center.
